Weber Shandwick adds four to its deep pool of talent

Cheri Johnson has been hired as an account supervisor in the Farm and Food Advocacy group. She brings an expertise in agriculture and long-standing media relationships to her work leading Syngenta Seeds alfalfa, sorghum and sunflower seed marketing communication activities and as a member of the Farm and Food Advocacy media relations team. Before joining Weber Shandwick, Johnson ran an independent PR business. She was previously with the U.S. Grains Council and Foremost Farms and graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.

Amy Kamenick has joined the Financial Services practice as an account supervisor. Kamenick will work with the U.S. Treasury to encourage individuals to receive federal benefits electronically and also support a digital thought leadership program for a big four accounting firm client. Prior to joining Weber Shandwick, Kamenick served as the assistant director of corporate and foundation relations for the University of St. Thomas and as research director for the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Minnesota and a master’s degree in business communication from the University of St. Thomas.

Katie Fitzpatrick has joined the Financial Services practice as an account supervisor. Her main focus will be supporting the firm’s work in the insurance sector. She will also provide ongoing support to other financial services clients. Previously, Fitzpatrick worked as a senior PR counselor, specializing in consumer and cause-related public relations. She graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a bachelor’s degree in English and a minor in public relations.

Alecia Puppe has been hired as an assistant account executive on completion of her internship in the Corporate, Community, and Public Affairs practice. She will concentrate on supporting the U.S. Army and BAE Systems accounts with her research, pitching skills and dedication. Previously, Puppe worked as a communications intern with Land O’ Lakes Inc. and Minnesota Public Radio. She graduated from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities with a bachelor’s degree in strategic communications and public relations.
